Algeria, Morocco bags 2023 AFCON U17 and U20 hosting rights

Confederation of African Football on Thursday annouced Northern African countries Algeria and Morocco as hosts for the 2023 U17 and U20 AFCON.

The semi-finalists of both competitions will represent the continent at the world cup later in the year.

Recall that he U20 AFCON was played in 2020 despite the presence of the COVID-19 with Ghana emerging Champions, their fourth AFCON glory in the U20 category, but the the U17 was cancelled.

Also, the FIFA U17 and U20 World cup tournaments were cancelled due to the pandemic but the world soccer governing body maintained that host countries will stage it in 2023.
