Former Spain midfielder, Xabi Alonso, has confirmed that he will continue as the manager of Bayer Leverkusen for the upcoming season.
Despite attracting interest from Bayern Munich and Liverpool, Alonso expressed his happiness to remain with the Bundesliga leaders.
Speaking with the media on Friday, Alonso praised his staff and the players for their support and commitment.
He stated, “I have a great staff who help me day by day to work better, improve, and prepare the team. And for sure, the players give me so many reasons to keep on believing in the team. Their commitment, desire, and hunger make me feel like my job is not over here.”
Alonso emphasized that the decision to stay was important and believes it is the right one.
He mentioned his youth and acknowledged that time will ultimately reveal the outcome, but for now, he is content and happy with his current position at Bayer Leverkusen.
