Super Falcons qualify for WAFCON semi-finals

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after beating Cameroon by a lone goal in a quarter-final fixture played in Casablanca on Thursday, July 14.

Atletico Madrid star Rasheedat Ajibade headed in the only goal of the game in the 56th minute to ensure Randy Waldrum’s women made it into the final four.

Nigeria will now take on Morocco in order to reach the final tournament.

By reaching the semi-finals at the ongoing WAFCON, the four qualified teams picked up automatic tickets for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Thus, Morocco, Nigeria, and Zambia have all qualified to represent Africa at the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.
