Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Football Federation, has sent a video to FIFA in an attempt to defend his actions during the Women’s World Cup final.
The video shows Jenni Hermoso, a player on the Spanish national team, joking about the kiss with her teammates shortly after the final.
Rubiales has been suspended by FIFA for 90 days following the incident, in which he grabbed Hermoso by the head and kissed her on the lips.
Hermoso has denied consenting to the kiss, and Spain’s players have refused to represent the national side until Rubiales resigns or is removed from his position.
Rubiales has accused Hermoso of lying about the incident and has threatened legal action against her.
However, the video provided to FIFA shows Hermoso laughing and explaining the incident to her teammates.
