The South Korean Football Association announced on Monday that Jürgen Klinsmann will be taking over as the team’s national head coach.
Klinsmann, 58, is a former German football striker who won the World Cup in 1990 and has experience coaching Germany (2004-2006), the United States (2011-2016), Bayern Munich (2008-2009) and Hertha Berlin (2019-2020).
He has signed a contract to stay in Korea until 2026 when the World Cup will be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.
This follows Paulo Bento’s resignation after South Korea’s loss to Brazil at last year’s World Cup in Qatar
