Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has called on La Liga to abandon their investigation into Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, following an alleged slur made by the midfielder towards Greenwood.

During a recent match between Getafe and Real Madrid, Bellingham is said to have muttered the word ‘rapist’ at Greenwood.

Greenwood, who had faced serious charges in the past, including attempted rape, assault, and coercive behavior, expressed his desire for the case to be dropped.

The forward joined Getafe on loan in August, as Manchester United believed it would be beneficial for him to resume his career away from Old Trafford.

After Getafe filed a complaint with La Liga regarding Bellingham’s alleged slur, the league agreed to investigate the incident.

However, Greenwood, who is currently enjoying playing football again after a long absence, requested that the case be dismissed to avoid any further distractions.

While Greenwood was reportedly “very angry” about the incident and did not expect such behavior from someone like Bellingham, he understands that he will always be associated with the videos that surfaced online before his arrest in January 2022.

Having settled in the Spanish capital with his long-term girlfriend and now a child together, Greenwood is focused on his football career.

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe stated that a decision would be made regarding Greenwood’s future at the end of the season, based on an understanding of the facts and values.
