Van Dijk’s Deal Twist as Man Utd Plot Transfer Shake-Up

Manchester United are gearing up for a busy summer with major changes expected at Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim, who is under increasing pressure, hopes to rebuild a squad that’s struggled through their worst-ever Premier League campaign.

According to The Mirror, United could still end the season with a Europa League title, which would secure Champions League qualification. However, fans remain skeptical, especially with Amorim’s future already in question despite only recently taking charge.

Behind the scenes, plans for next season are taking shape. United are reportedly targeting Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as a potential replacement for Andre Onana. Ramsdale, 26, is expected to leave after Southampton’s relegation.

West Ham are also said to be interested in Ramsdale, but sources suggest the England international already has a preference for his next club. The Red Devils are eager to act quickly to beat the competition to his signature.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are heading in a different direction. Fresh off Mo Salah signing a new two-year deal, fans received another boost as Virgil van Dijk hinted at his own contract extension.

Van Dijk, who also has just a few months left on his current deal, said:
“I think first, all the focus should be going to the Hillsborough anniversary. I think that’s the main thing and then we’ll see.”

While no official announcement has been made, it’s widely believed the Dutch defender has already agreed terms and will commit to another two years at Anfield.

In other Premier League news, Newcastle United confirmed that manager Eddie Howe is recovering in hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia. He missed his side’s 4-1 win over Manchester United and later shared his gratitude for the support received.

“A huge thank you to everyone connected with Newcastle United and the wider football community for your messages and warm wishes,” Howe said in a statement. “They have meant a lot to me and my family.”

As the season nears its conclusion, off-pitch decisions are shaping what’s next for clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool — both preparing in very different ways.
