Firmino’s season went through a difficult patch due to an injury that sided his appearance for Brazil in Qatar, however, before suffering the knock he had been on fire, having scored nine times in all competitions during the first half of the year – featuring 7 goals from Premier League games and two from Champions League fixtures.
It seems likely that this impressive form has earned him an extended stay at Anfield with the news being reported by Sky Germany that sources close to the player have said they expect a deal until 2025 will be finalised soon.
Klopp spoke on wanting Firmino’s future tied down recently by explaining that he saw no problems or issues between their relationship and spoke of how even during Liverpool’s slow start Bobby had performed at his usual high standard.
The new deal would contribute too bringing stability and optimismback following Liverpool’s quiet January transfer window which saw fans call out for reinforcements yet ended up only adding PSV winger Cody Gakpo who arrived for around £35m.
