Scorer of Nasarawa United’s winning goal against Niger Tornadoes in the matchday fourteen of the 2021-2022 NPFL season, Chijioke Aloekwe, is happy after scoring his first league goal for the club.

Alaekwe joined the Solid Miners at the beginning of the season, and have waited so much to score his first goal in the colors of Nasarawa United.

The striker chose the best time to end his drought with a winner against neighbors Niger Tornadoes on Monday.

In-form Michael Tochukwu, found the former Kano Pillars’ hitman inside the box and he wasted no time to head home in the twenty-third minute.

The goal was enough to earn the Solid Miners a place in the top 8 after fourteen round of matches.

“It’s a thing of joy; I am so overwhelmed to have scored my first goal since joining Nasarawa United this season.”

“I am adapting gradually to the environment and club, and I hope the goals keep coming.”

“We are still alive to our ambitions – the league is still thrown open and continental tickets are still much available for all the teams.” Alaekwe said after the match.

The former FC Ifeanyi Uba star will be aiming for another goal when Nasarawa United play Rivers United in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, coming weekend in the NPFL matchday fifteen.
