The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have threatened to report Premier League side Watford to football’s governing body FIFA over the release of Emmanuel Dennis for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The inform striker is expected to play his last game for the Hornets on January 1 before linking up with the Eagles camp in Abuja.

However, Watford gaffer Claudio Ranieri has claimed that he may not be released to the Nigeria Football Federation, due to a discrepancy in the timing of Nigeria’s announcement of his selection for the tournament in Cameroon.

Dennis has scored 8 goals and assisted 5 this season for the Hornets, which makes him the Watford’s best player of the season for Ranieri’s led side.

Ranieri speaking at the post match press conference after the their game against West Ham, the Italian said: “I’m not so sure I will miss him now, I don’t know if goes. Let’s think about it this week and then I will tell you.”

“The national team has a time to send their pre-call, they don’t respect the days and I want to see very well.”

“I know the email arrived late and I want to know everything. The email arrived late to call him.”

“The national team has a time, during this time they have to send the pre-call if they don’t send it we can choose not to release him.”

Meanwhile, the NFF has said they will report the Watford boss to FIFA for the release of the inform striker Dennis who scored for the Hornets in their defeat to West Ham United.
