Newcastle United are ready to step up their pursuit of Fiorentina’s striker Dusan Vlahovic when the transfer window opens in January.
The Serbia international has been in a great form since the start of the season, and he has scored 10 goals in just 13 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina this season.
Vlahovic has scored 27 goals in 37 Serie A games for Fiorentina in 2021, a league tally only bettered by Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandoski who has scored 38 in Europe’s top five league this calendar year.
According to report from Italy, Vlahovic could be sold by the Florence based club in January, having scouted for him for a long time and recently at his country World Cup qualifiers against Portugal.
Nothing is confirmed yet, but the Italian outfit are expected to demand a hefty fee for 21 year old striker in the range of £70million for the former Partizan star.
With Newcastle’s Saudi led consortium takeover with £350million, spending big in the January transfer window wouldn’t be a problem for the Magpies.
Co-owner Amanda Staveley last month also echoed the fact that there will be heavy investment in the team, as they set to revamp the either team.
