Former Super Eagles midfielder, John Obi Mikel, has predicted that Manchester City and Arsenal will reach the final of the Champions League this year.
Mikel, who appeared as a guest for the quarter-final draw, made his predictions before picking out the balls.
The draw, held on Friday, marked the last ever for the current format of the Champions League.
Starting from next season, the tournament will be played in a 36-team format.
In the quarter-finals, Arsenal will be facing Bayern Munich, while Manchester City will take on Real Madrid.
When asked about his thoughts on which teams would make it to the final, Mikel replied, “The final will be held in Wembley, England, so I would like an English club to make it into the final. I hope Manchester City or Arsenal make it.”
Mikel Obi is among the few Nigerian footballers who have had the privilege of lifting the Champions League trophy.
Other notable Nigerian players who have achieved this feat include Finidi George and Kanu Nwankwo.
Only time will tell which teams will ultimately emerge victorious in this prestigious competition.
