Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford as they welcomed Young Boys at home in their last group game.

The Red Devils took the lead in the first half but were unable to seal the win though qualifications have been secured prior to this match.

It was another purple match for Manchester United side who would want to get back to winning ways soonest.

But with Cristiano Ronaldo rested for this match, Rangnick and his side could be pardoned for the scoreline.

Here Isagoal.com reveals the three significant points from United’s 1-1 draw against Young Boys.

Impressive Mason Greenwood

The English talent was at his usual best as he opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 9th minute of the encounter.

He was in the right position to get his shot into the net as the Red Devils sparked off into celebration. Though it was not enough to secure the result his side was expected of.

He was unplayable against the visitors and his goal and talent on the pitch would have impressed his manager ahead of the next game.

He would aim to keep his place when they return to the Premier League as the season continues to unfold in the English scene.

Rangnick rested players

The new boss would have wanted a better result but that was not to be as his side endured another match without a win.

But with Ralf Rangnick (new Manchester United boss) resting his star players to freshen up things in the squad, there are signs of positives.

Players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford was absent from the United starting team for this match.

And it’s obvious that Ralf is keeping (resting) his main players for the tough games in the Premier League.

United Howler Costs Them

Manchester United lost the three points though despite taking the lead in the 9th minute.

It was a smart finish from youngster Greenwood, who got the goal for his side in a sumptuous style.

But a mix-up outside the area saw the visitors (Young Boys) equalize in the match.

While Young Boys ensured they remain unbeaten against United after winning 2-1 in the first leg with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring United’s only goal on that occasion.
