Manchester United are reportedly preparing for a major overhaul, with several players set to leave this summer.
According to Fichajes, the club plans to sell Antony after receiving an offer of €75 million (£64m) from Atletico Madrid.
Antony, who joined the Red Devils from Ajax in 2022 for £82 million, has struggled to live up to expectations.
As a result, he has failed to find consistent form, leading United to reconsider his future at Old Trafford.
Consequently, the club is reportedly open to selling him, hoping to recoup some of their investment.
Former assistant manager Rene Meulensteen has made it clear that “Antony has no future at Manchester United.”
In fact, Meulensteen believes that staying in Spain with Real Betis might be the best option for the Brazilian.
If he returns to Manchester, Meulensteen argues, Antony would likely fall back into the rut he was in before.
With a potential move to Atletico Madrid in the works, United seems ready to part ways with the winger.
In preparation for his departure, Manchester United have already identified a replacement.
They are reportedly targeting Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, a promising 20-year-old winger.
Bynoe-Gittens has impressed in the Bundesliga, registering 8 goals and 4 assists in 28 appearances so far.
Moreover, his speed, technical ability, and creativity have made him a target for several top European clubs.
Therefore, United are confident that the €75 million investment would be a wise long-term decision to strengthen their attacking options.
As the season progresses, it remains to be seen whether this move will materialize.
