The Lokoja based club is also known as Wada Queens or Kogi Confluence Queens. They were founded on 12th February 1993 by David Ayo Owolabi. However, in 2006, former Governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris took over the administrative control of the team. Mallam Abdul Sule is the Chairman of the club while Tosin Ojo is their Manager. Delta Queens was founded in the year 2000 in January by former Governor James Ibori and till date, it is still owned by the Government of Delta State. Osun Babes F.C. Osun Babes Football Club of Osogbo was founded as Comfort Queens F.C. in 1995 during the military rule of Anthony Udofia but was later renamed to FSP Obi Babes F.C. The club was disbanded in the year 2000. It took the then governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola to reestablish the female football club in 2004 and had to rename it as Oyinlola Queens. The name was however later changed to Osun Babes by Governor Rauf Aregbesola in 2011. The likes of Onome Ebi, Ayisat Yusuf, Tawa Ishola, Josephine Chukwunonye, Ukaonu Onyinye and Christy Ohiaeriaku are some of the notable players the club has produced over time.
