Former Arsenal Defender Criticizes Tuchel’s Outburst, Explains Referee Controversy

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Martin Keown, a former Arsenal defender, has criticized Thomas Tuchel for publicly criticizing referee Glenn Nyberg after Bayern Munich were denied a penalty in their Champions League match against Arsenal.

The incident occurred in the 66th minute when Gabriel, an Arsenal defender, inexplicably picked up the ball following a David Raya goal kick. The Swedish match official decided not to award a penalty due to the unusual nature of the incident, but Tuchel was furious and called the referee’s on-field explanation “horrible.”

Keown disagreed with Tuchel’s outburst and suggested that he should not have made Nyberg’s explanation public.

He believed that Tuchel had thrown the referee “under the bus” and that the referee was not expecting his mistake to be made public. Keown did admit that Arsenal were fortunate to have avoided a penalty on that occasion, but he also suggested that the referee may have been out of his depth, as he also denied Arsenal a spot kick in the final seconds of the match when Bukayo Saka and Manuel Neuer collided.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta did not comment on the Saka incident but expressed disappointment at the missed chance by Ben White and defensive errors.

However, he remained optimistic about progressing to the last four of the Champions League.

Arsenal’s Chance for Redemption in Munich

Despite the controversial decisions in the match, Arsenal still have a chance to turn the tie around in the second leg in Munich.

Arteta acknowledged the defensive mistakes made by his team but emphasized the need to step up in certain aspects of the game. He expressed belief in his team’s ability to win in Munich and stated that they would be better prepared for the upcoming match.

Arsenal will need to address their defensive vulnerabilities and capitalize on their opportunities if they want to advance to the next round of the Champions League.

With the right mindset and improved performance, they have the potential to overcome the challenges posed by Bayern Munich and secure a spot in the semi-finals.
