Salim Fago Lawal, a forward for the Flying Eagles, has completed his move to Croatian club NK Istra 1961.

Lawal, who previously played for Mavlon FC, has signed a three-year contract with his new team.

The 20-year-old striker recently represented Nigeria in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, where he made five appearances and scored one goal.

Despite the Flying Eagles being eliminated in the quarter-finals by South Korea, Lawal’s performance caught the attention of several clubs.

Ultimately, Mavlon FC decided that a move to Croatia would be the best opportunity for Lawal to further his development.
