Arsenal To Decide On Third £70 Million Moises Caicedo Transfer Offer

Arsenal have given up on the chase of midfielder Moises Caicedo, having had a second offer of £70 million for the Ecuador international rejected by Brighton.
Mikel Arteta is desperate to sign a replacement for injured Mohamed Elneny in midfield before Tuesday’s transfer deadline and he has been targeting the 21-year-old as his top choice.
Despite previously bidding £55 million to Chelsea and then £60 million to Brighton, it appears Arsenal have chosen not to make a third bid after their latest offer was turned down.
Roberto De Zerbi, Brighton manager, appeared to give some hope that Arsenal could still push through a deal, saying they were “prepared” to move on without him should he receive the request from a “big team”.
Such teams are assumed to refer both Arsenal and Chelsea who have shown interest in signing Caicedo since January 2021 when Brighton got him for just £3.5million from Independiente del Valle.
