Arsenal close to signing Jakub Kiwior from Spezia with medical imminent
Arsenal are on the brink of bolstering their defensive ranks ahead of a big clash with Manchester United this Sunday, with a deal for Poland and Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior set to be sealed imminently.
The 22-year-old left-sided centre-back, who can also play in midfield, is expected to arrive in England for his medical shortly and Arsenal will pay an estimated fee of £20 million ($25m) for his services.
Having started his career back in Slovakia with MSK Zilina, Kiwior moved to Serie A side Spezia last August and has impressed extremely ever since, attracting interest from top clubs like AC Milan and Juventus too.
The acquisition of Kiwior along with Leandro Trossard from Brighton means Arsenal have now addressed their squad depth concerns at the back, something that was identified as a priority area after Gabriel Magalhaes featured in all but one game so far this season.
