Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro says his side deserved to beat the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.
Nigeria defeated Sierra Leone 3-2 in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia on Sunday night.
The victory confirmed the Super Eagles place at the 2023 AFCON finals which will be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire.

The Super Eagles squandered a two-goal lead before Kelechi Iheanacho scored a late winner.
Peseiro said his side were deserving winners of the thrilling encounter.
“A very hard match my players never gave up they fought till the final whistle in the first half we created up to eight opportunities but only scored two goals,” Peseiro told a post-match press conference.
“We deserved to win but I think it was difficult and very good match but our team is the best in the group we did a fantastic job against a good team I’m happy with my players, congratulations to them.“
