Ademola Lookman, the forward for the Super Eagles, has revealed that he has modeled his game style after Senegalese forward, Sadio Mane. Lookman, who has played for Charlton Athletic, Everton, RB Leipzig, Fulham, and Leicester City, recently made a move to Serie A side Atalanta.
The Nigeria international joined Atalanta at the beginning of the 2022-2023 season for a fee of around nine million euros, paid to Leipzig. Lookman has made 65 all-competition appearances, scoring 24 goals and providing 12 assists.
In an interview with The Athletic, Lookman expressed his admiration for Sadio Mane and how he has studied the former Liverpool star’s game. He said, “The guy who I always looked at the most would have to be Sadio Mane. Looking at his threat in the box, his threat in those little tight spaces, his movement — I have watched a lot of his game in particular.”
By analyzing his own performance through video clips, Lookman gains a different perspective and believes that he is improving and developing in certain areas. He added, “It gives you more belief in knowing that you’re getting better and developing in certain areas.”
