Tottenham Hotspurs vs. Liverpool; three key battles ahead of Sunday Showdown

Liverpool would make the trip to face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend as rivalry takes centre stage in London.

The Reds would be aiming for another three points against their top-level counterpart. But how can they measure up with their desire in this one without giving their best on this occasion?

Jurgen Klopp and his team will be aiming for the three points and it would not come on the wings of any form of complacency.

While Isagoal.com takes a look at the three key battles ahead of this Super Sunday fixture at the English Capital.

Eric Dier-Diogo Jota

The English centre back will be in action against the flaming dart coming from the Liverpool attacking dimension.

More especially as Portuguese striker Diogo Jota would be leading the attack for the Reds in the stead of Brazil’s forward Roberto Firmino.

Dier’s defensive awareness would be tested by Jota abrupt attacking presence in the Tottenham danger area.

While both players would aim to get on to the end of the ball ahead of each other in this amazing but mouthwatering contest.

Dele Alli-Jordan Henderson

The battle will be an English based affair as Alli will square up against the imperious Liverpool skipper.

Henderson has been in top form for the Reds and it would be another measure of the game to evaluate his dealing against the talented Dele Alli on the pitch.

The Tottenham Hotspur star (Alli) would bring his best game to prove his worth to new Italian manager Antonio Conte.

While we look forward to this clash as the star match of the weekend at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Harry Kane-Joel Matip

Though the English striker may not be in the best possible form that’s expected of his quality at the moment in time.

But with Liverpool coming to town for this fixture, expect him to be motivated to prove his worth on the pitch.

While Matip would aim to display his defensive ability amid his class on the ball with a decent shift against a high-profile centre forward like that of Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

Even though he will be doing so in the absence of his ever-present and reliable defence colleague and partner Virgil Van Dijk.
