Three special players that must start for Nigeria against Guinea Bissau

The match between Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria is expected to generate much interest ahead of this return leg tie after the Guinea-Bissau side defeated Jose Peseiro’s Super Eagles lost 0-1 at home in Abuja.

And with star-studded Nigeria in dire need of a response, certain personnel changes are inevitable ahead of this encounter.

Even as Isagoal.com reveals the Nigerian players that should start the return leg in essence.

Kenneth Omeruo (Defender)

The former Chelsea loanee would be key ahead of this match as he’s expected to provide experience for the side ahead of this match.

Even as he needs to stamp his authority in the absence of Skipper William Troost-Ekong and Veteran partner Leon ‘Aderemi’ Balogun.

And with Kevin Akpoguma set to miss this tie after picking up an injury against Guinea-Bissau on Friday, Omeruo would be an ideal replacement in the centre-back for the Hoffenheim defender.

Moses Simon (Winger)

The talented winger whose form has been key to his side’s performance in the French Ligue 1. And he would be a good addition to Jose Peseiro’s side upfront from the start.

He may have missed a decent chance to get Nigeria back on level terms after being set up by Samuel Chukwueze in the box.

But if he starts he would wear Nigeria’s armband which could be a huge inspiration for him to perform in a game of this significance.

Terem Moffi (Striker)

It came as a surprise to see him left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes against Guinea-Bissau on Friday.

Peseiro picked Kelechi Iheanacho to partner Victor Osimhen in the attack with out-of-form Paul Onuachu replacing the former in the attack after the intermission.

But with Moffi in fine form at his French side OGC Nice and the Super Eagles in need of a response, Moffi should be in line for a start.

While he’s had a superb combo with Osimhen in the Nigerian attack as we saw in the 0-10 demolition of Sao Tome and Principe last year.
