Three Key Games To Watch On The African World Cup Qualifiers

The stage is set for a couple of interesting match-ups on the African continent as hostility ensures in the building up to the Qatar 2022 showpiece.

It would be an interesting contest to see how some of the best teams line up thus earning results to their credit this weekend as pressure beckons on the field of play amid the qualification place that are up for grabs.

Liberia vs. Nigeria

The Liberian side would be facing up with Nigeria at home in Morocco though as both have already met in the reverse fixture.

Nigeria defeated the Liberian team 2-0 thanks to a pair of goals from Kelechi Iheanacho while Odion Ighalo is back in the Super Eagles team to add firepower to Gernot Rohr’s men ahead of this clash.

It would be a terrific contest to behold especially as Samuel Chukwueze is back alongside Wilfred Ndidi to Nigeria’s advantage.

While Liberia would aim to act as spoilers in this match since they are bottom of Group C with only three points.

Malawi vs. Cameroon

The Malawi side would be ready for battle as Cameroon comes calling against the home side.

The Cameroonians are obvious favourites in this one as they won the first leg 2-0 in Cameroon.

And with the inspiration coming from the likes of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, the signs are really positive for the giants of African football known for their physicality.

Ivory Coast vs. Mozambique   

The elephants playing at home should see them win here but the Mozambique side would want to give the Ivorians a run for their money.

While the home side who have produced legendary figures like Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure and Kolo Toure, and would hope to pick the three points to stay in contention with group rival Cameroon.

With the match looming at hand, the West Africans would hope that Nicolas Pepe and Eric Baily can be of great input in the home fixture.

While avoiding the Wilfred Zaha international distraction in the build-up to this crucial matchday 5 contest.
