Thomas Tuchel Not Immune To Sacking – Trevor Sinclair
Former England international Trevor Sincerely has warned Thomas Tuchel that will not be safe from Abramovich’s axe if Chelsea form fails to improve.
The Blues headed into November three points clear at the top of the Premier League but a recent poor run of form has seen them overtaken by City and Liverpool.
Chelsea have dropped five points from three games, drawing against Burnley and Manchester United and suffering a 3-2 defeat by West Ham last week.
Sinclair however praised Tuchel’s work at the club but insisted Chelsea’s results must improve or the German will faces the same path as Lampard, who was axed after a poor run of form.
The former international told talkSport. “Thomas Tuchel has done superbly since he joined Chelsea, winning the Champions League, you look at the way he’s recruited by buying a top striker in Romelu Lukaku.”
“He not getting the best out of Lukaku at the moment, but in general with the team Frank Lampard built, he’s organized them, he’s made them difficult to beat and they’ve gone on a run where they’ve been unbelievable.”
“But they’re human, they’re always going to have a bit of a blip. He wants better in the basics, and the mentality from the players, and I’m sure they’ll get over it.”
“However, you know what Chelsea are like their footballing model is if the manager is not doing it, get shot and start again.”
While Chelsea has been decimated by injuries in recent weeks, they will hope to have them back in time as the season progress in the Premier League.
