Thomas Frank Calls For Postponement Of Premier League Weekend Games

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has calls for the postponement of this weekend’s round of Premier League fixtures due to the current Covid-19 outbreak.

Brentford are to face Southampton on Saturday, but Frank speaking ahead of their game against the Saint said he had been in touch with the Premier League as well as other managers in league who he said are in agreement.

During Frank’s press conference with the media, he was notify that there were four additional positive Covid-19 cases within the team camp, taking the total of positive cases among players and staff at the club to 13.

On Tuesday Brentford’s clash against United was postponed due to the outbreak in United camp, as such Frank feels drastic action is needed to ensure the problem does not get any worse while he thinks the games should be postpone.

“We think we should postpone the full round of Premier League fixtures this weekend. Covid cases are going through the roof at all Premier League clubs, everyone is dealing with it and having problems.”

“To postpone this round and also the Carabao Cup round would give everyone a week at least, four or five days to clean and do everything at the training ground so everything is clean and you break the chain.”

While Frank has calls for the postponement of the games, it’s left to be seen if the Premier League would adhere to his suggestion which he claimed other managers are in support of.
