The Rising Star That Thierry Henry Believes Will Surpass Messi and Ronaldo
According to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, Kylian Mbappe has the potential to become one of the greatest footballers in history and surpass the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
With 12 Ballon d’Ors between them over the past 15 years, Ronaldo and Messi have cemented their positions as legends of the game.
However, at ages 38 and 35 respectively, they are approaching the latter stages of their careers.
Mbappe emerged as an apparent heir after a stellar performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup where he was awarded with the golden boot.
Henry, who is also a compatriot of Mbappe’s, praised him and tipped him as a rightful successor to Ronaldo and Messi.
The PSG forward has been linked with Real Madrid but he himself insisted that his future does not depend on the French club’s success in Europe.
Despite having signed a three-year deal before the start of the 2022/23 campaign, Mbappe’s future remains uncertain as he becomes Les Parisiens’ all-time record scorer.
