The latest FIFA ranking places Nigeria at 6th on the continent and 40th in the world, which resulted in them missing out on Pot 1.
The draw for the tournament will take place on October 12 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The different pots for the draw include teams such as Cote d’Ivoire, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt in Pot 1, Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Congo DR in Pot 2, South Africa, Cape Verde, Guinea, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, and Mauritania in Pot 3, and Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Namibia, Angola, Gambia, and Tanzania in Pot 4.
