Real Madrid are reportedly looking at a move for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Los Blancos will be without centre-forward Mariano Diaz, who is set to depart on a free transfer, and they have identified the Belgian attacker as a potential following Alvaro Rodriguez’s three senior appearances last year.
Lukaku, 29, reportedly ‘dreams of representing Real Madrid’, having shone for Inter between 2019 and 2021 before his return to Stamford Bridge a year ago in a deal worth £97.5m.
Fitness issues have blighted his 2021-22 season and he is currently out on loan at Inter, but the Italians are said to be keen for their manager Giuseppe Marotta to make the move permanent.
His contract with Chelsea doesn’t expire until June 2026, meaning that the London club can command a high transfer fee from any ambitious top European side hoping to sign him this summer.
Lukaku has been in good form since December 2022 and he scored the winner in their Champions League first-leg match against FC Porto back in February – his only two goals of the Serie A campaign so far.
