Oshoala scores twice in Barcelona’s UWCL game against Rosengard
Barcelona Femini, in their final game of 2022, whipped Rosengard 6-0, ensuring that they finished the year on a high note and also win their group in the Women’s UEFA Champions League.
Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala scored as the ball bounced off the crossbar and into her path after just ten minutes with Barça fully in command of play.
The Super Falcons striker scored the second goal with a header five minutes later and before halftime, Mapi León made it 3-0 with a skillfully executed free kick.
The Swedes had not even come close to having a shot on goal and it was going to get worse. Just after the break, Aitana Bonmati’s backheel to Fridolina Rolfö resulted in goal number four, and three minutes later, Marta Torrejón made it five when she was on hand to capitalise on a pass that slid out of the hands of Angel Mukasa, the visiting goalie.
Irene Paredes, a centre back, went up for a corner and expertly met it with a well-directed header to score the sixth and final goal, and it was her second in as many games for the leading Primera Iberdrola side.
Barcelona will not be back in action until Sevilla visits the Johan Cruyff on January 7, 2023 at 6:15pm local time.
