Onuachu Hails Genk Teammates After Win Vs Charleroi

Paul Onuachu has praised Genk after they fought back from a goal down to beat Charleroi 4-2 for their first win under a new coach.

“As a team we showed character and resilience. Hopefully we can continue on this path,” the big striker said after the home victory.

“Under the new coach we train a lot, physically it is very tough. But I think we have already reaped the benefits.

“We do what the coach tells us, but it is clear that the work ethic has changed.”

Onuachu also scored his first goal since October, putting away a cross.

“It is very pleasing to score again after a few weeks,” he said.

“There was a lot of space for us to work with and that gave us quite a few opportunities. Now two more games to close the year.”

He was later replaced by Ike Ugbo in the game after he suffered cramps.
