Darwin Núñez’s first-half goal secured a 1-0 Champions League victory for Liverpool against RB Leipzig.

This win made them the first team to win their opening six away matches of a season and to secure 11 victories in their first 12 games.

Núñez, starting in place of the injured Diogo Jota, netted the winner in the 27th minute, capitalizing on a header from Mohamed Salah.

Despite the result, Liverpool struggled to dominate the match and faced several challenges from Leipzig, who had two goals disallowed.

The home side, currently level on points with Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, started strong but ultimately fell to their third consecutive Champions League defeat.

Early in the match, Leipzig threatened to take the lead, but Liverpool’s goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher made crucial saves.

Following the disallowed goal by Leipzig, Liverpool found their momentum, with Núñez’s goal giving them the edge.

However, they missed multiple opportunities to extend their lead, including a penalty appeal for Núñez that was not upheld.

As the match progressed, Kelleher continued to shine, denying Leipzig’s attempts to equalize, including a late effort that was ruled offside.
