Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to be sidelined for approximately two months due to a groin injury.

The 25-year-old suffered the issue during Forest’s 1-0 away win over Southampton on January 4, where he scored the match-winning goal before being substituted 20 minutes from full time due to soreness in his groin.

As per Foot Mercato journalist, Awoniyi will now be out of action for a period of two months.

With four goals in 16 English Premier League (EPL) matches this season, Awoniyi shared joint top scorer status at the club prior to his injury.

To provide adequate cover, Nottingham are said to have intended to bring in Chris Wood on loan from Newcastle United as part of their attacking options.
