Napoli’s goal-poacher Victor Osimhen becomes the latest national team player to pay tribute to Gernot Rohr, following his sacking as Eagles coach on Sunday.
The German coach contract was terminated on Sunday after more than five years in charge of the Eagles, despite qualifying the team for AFCON and Qatar 2022 playoffs in March.
While the Nigerian football fans gives the German credit for achieving that, however, the performance of the team over the last 12 months made his job in the dugout at risk.
The former Burkina Faso coach was sacked on Sunday by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), but did not stopped some of his former players from wishing him the best in his next job.
Among the players who wishes the coach well is one striker Victor Osimhen who enjoyed a lot of playing time under his tutelage, scoring ten goals in 19 games same as newly signed Watford goalie Maduka Okoye.
The Napoli forward who is currently out with a facial injury, took to his social media pages to wish the coach the best. “Thank you for everything coach and I wish you all the best.” said Osimhen.
