Luka Modric To Extend Real Madrid’s Deal Until 2022-23

Real Madrid midfield meastro Luka Modric, is set to extend his contract at Santiago Bernabeu until the end of 2022-23 campaign in the coming weeks, according to reports in Spain.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been one of Real Madrid’s key player since joining the Spanish giant in 2012, scoring 28 goals in 402 appearances plus numerous titles for Los Blancos.

Modric only signed a new one year deal in May this year which is to take him into his ninth seasons at the Bernabeu, but reports in Spain claims the 36 year old is hoping to open talks with Madrid hierarchy before the end of 2021.

Since the appointment of Los Blancos’ Italian coach Ancelotti, the Croatian has since continues to shown is not slowing down despite his age and he’s been an integral part of the Italian plans since the start of the campaign with three assists in 11 games.

According to report, Ancelotti is keen to see Modric extend his stay beyond June with Madrid expected to continue their policy of only offering 12 month contract extensions to players above the age of 30.

Should Real Madrid get to offer Modric an extension, that means the Bernabeu fans will get to see the Croatia magician in Madrid until 2022-23.
