Key questions as African Cup of Nations qualifiers continues on the continent

With the qualifying series continuing to make the round on the African continent as the case may be, certain real observations were notable.

As teams were picking up three points here and there, Isagoal.com took out time to Identify certain questions that could have emanated from the ongoing African qualifiers.

Here are some of these questions as follows:

Will Cameroon Qualify for AFCON?The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon would be licking their own wounds as pressure would be on them to pick up maximum points in the last two games of the qualifiers.

And despite the talent they had on display they still struggled to make things happen with Vincent Aboubakar, Bryan Mbeumo and Eric Maxim Choupo Moting as popular names on the side.

But with Samuel Eto’O at the helm of football affairs for Cameroon, there could be reasons for optimism as the fans endured a lacklustre outing against the Namibia side.

Which team was the best in the AFCON Qualifiers? The qualifiers may have seen the likes of Ghana held by Angola away from home. While perennial powerhouses like Nigeria and Cameroon are still yet to be convincing at the moment.

But other sides like Zambia, Senegal and Ivory Coast performed to a great effect. Even though Egypt look to be the most impressive side along with Senegal.

Not minding the fact that Algeria was the first team to qualify for the AFCON showpiece next year 2024 in Ivory Coast.

Which underdog impressed the most?

The likes of Uganda, and Gambia claimed important wins against Tanzania and Mali on the African scene.

While other sides like Sudan and Liberia surprised Gabon and South Africa with their doggedness when they met in the qualifiers.

However, thumbs up will go to the Guinea-Bissau and Namibia sides after they threatened Nigeria and Cameroon amid their pedigree in football.

But we give it to Namibia on a level playing ground as they made Cameroon look like African minnows in their double-header with the Indomitable Lions.
