Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has announced that Odion Ighalo will be included in the matchday squad for his side’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde on Tuesday.

Ighalo, who recently returned to the Super Eagles following his retirement in 2019 was not included in the matchday squad for last Saturday’s 2-0 away win against the Lone Star of Liberia.

Rohr has however declared that the Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia striker is in line to feature in the all important clash against the Blue Sharks at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

“Ighalo, after the late arrival, after the long trip also, he had a second vaccination so it was not a good moment for him to come back with only training session with the team,” Rohr told a news conference at the team’s Eko Hotel and Suites base on Monday afternoon.

“We always try to give the best conditions to the players but now he was with us, he trained with us, he is fit and he will be be in the group for tomorrow.”

“I don’t know if he will start the game or not. We will take a a decision after the training of tomorrow morning but Ighalo will help us.
