How Erik ten Hag is Trying to Emulate Jose Mourinho’s Success at Man United

Erik ten Hag was appointed head coach at Manchester United in the summer to help end their trophy drought, which hasn’t been breached since Jose Mourinho’s tenure.

After three years without a trophy, there is pressure on Ten Hag to emulate what Mourinho achieved in his first year by winning the Carabao Cup and Europa League.

The former Ajax boss has already brought optimism back to Old Trafford and acknowledges the optimism of the fans.

He is fully aware of how long it’s been since the team last won a trophy and views it as a priority for his squad – one that he’s determined to bring about as soon as possible.

“It’s about winning trophies, so we have a good opportunity, but we have to go game from game,” said Ten Hag regarding his mission at Man Utd.
