Graham Potter Turns Down Ajax Vacancy for Manchester United Job

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter has reportedly declined the opportunity to become the new head coach of Ajax. Sky Sports News has revealed that Potter was the prime target for the Eredivisie club, and talks were held between the two parties. However, it seems that Potter is not interested in joining the Dutch side at this time.

This news comes just four months after reports emerged that Potter was expected to be high on Manchester United’s shortlist of managerial candidates if they were to part ways with Erik ten Hag this summer. Potter’s impressive achievements at Brighton, as well as his previous working relationship with Dan Ashworth, have put him in a favorable position for the potential job at Old Trafford. Ashworth is being pursued by Manchester United to become their new sporting director.

48-year-old Potter has been without a job since being relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge a year ago. He has already turned down offers to take over at Lyon and the Swedish national side, indicating his willingness to wait for the right opportunity before returning to the managerial seat.

Ajax, on the other hand, have been without a permanent manager since October after sacking Maurice Steijn. John van’t Schip has taken temporary charge of the team, but they currently find themselves in sixth place in the league, 33 points behind leaders PSV. Recent heavy defeats to Feyenoord and Aston Villa have further highlighted the club’s need for a new head coach.
