Gift Orban: The making of a Real Super Eagles Gem

The Gent sensation is making it big time by pressing the right buttons for a maiden Super Eagles call-up at the moment.

Gift Orban has shown in a few games that he belongs in the Super Eagles rank amid the talent the National team have at his disposal.

His solitary goal earned Gent a 1-0 victory over Belgian giants Anderlecht. What a goal it was as it raised eyebrows for those who saw the magnificent strike that left the Anderlecht goalkeeper with no chance to make a save.

And now he has improved his reputation with four goals at the weekend as Gent were 6-2 winners over modest Belgian side Zulte Waregem.

Following his move from Norwegian Second Division side Stabaek in January, Orban wasted no time in announcing himself in the Belgian League.

Just as the Gent football hierarchy is pleased with his form at the club. His goal-scoring ability has endeared him to the Gent side even as Nigerian fans are gradually beginning to take notice of his class alongside the impressive Middlesbrough star Chuba Akpom.

Scoring four goals is no small feat at all, especially for a player moving from a lower League side Stabaek (Norwegian Second Division) to a higher level League like the Belgian topflight.

He scored in the Europa Conference League clash against Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir as it finished 1-1 in Belgium.

And his continued performance may prove that he belongs among the likes of Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Terem Moffi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Isaac Success in the Super Eagles attack.

Just as more of such performance will be expected from him by the ever-demanding soccer-loving Nigerians.
