Bryan Fiabema, a former Chelsea youth team player, has expressed his disagreement with the club’s decision to sack Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel, who led Chelsea to victory in the Champions League, was the last manager to win a trophy for the club.
However, the German tactician was dismissed by the club’s new owners in September 2022 following a series of poor results.
Not only did Tuchel secure the Champions League title for Chelsea, but he also guided the team to success in the Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
When asked about his thoughts on Tuchel’s sacking during an interview with the Byline Show, Fiabema expressed surprise and stated, “Very, very. I think to this day even it was a mistake because if you look back, if you are at a big club like that you always have to win trophies.”
Fiabema went on to praise Tuchel’s achievements, saying, “He won trophies, I would say he did well, but just seeing what he did with the players and the team, I think it was a mistake.”
While some believe the decision was justified due to the team’s poor form, others, like Fiabema, feel that Tuchel’s success and impact on the players should have been taken into consideration.
