Forest Boss Praises Awoniyi Performance Against Chelsea
Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper has praised Taiwo Awoniyi for his superb display in the Reds draw against Chelsea.
Awoniyi, 25, was the hero of the day as his brace earned the Tricky Trees a 2-2 draw at the Stamford Bridge.
It was the first time the Nigeria international will be scoring back-to-back braces in his professional career having scored twice in Forest’s 4-3 victory against Southampton last Monday.
The forward got the first from a header on 13 minutes following a howler from Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.

Awoniyi then equalised for the visitors on 62 minutes with another decent strike.
“He (Awoniyi) scored with his head as well which we were very pleased with that. We talked about it and there was a chance at Brentford that we thought he could have done better with, so it was good that he got the two goals.
Especially the first one, I think he showed good bravery,” Cooper told Premier League Productions.
The former Liverpool striker has so far featured in 25 league games with eight goals and one assist to his name.
