Former AC Milan manager Fabio Capello has expressed his belief that Napoli will face a difficult task in finding a suitable replacement for their star striker, Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen is expected to depart from the reigning Serie A champions in the upcoming summer transfer window, with several top European clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain, showing interest in the Nigerian forward.
Capello acknowledged the challenge that Napoli will encounter when trying to fill the void left by Osimhen’s departure.
In an interview with II Martino via Area Napoli, Capello stated, “How do you replace Osimhen next year? Million dollar question, there are no players around to replace Osimhen. You would have to have a crystal ball to find him.”
Osimhen’s impact on Napoli cannot be understated.
The 25-year-old striker played a pivotal role in helping the club secure their first Scudetto in over three decades last season, scoring an impressive 26 goals in 32 games.
This season, he has continued to impress, finding the back of the net 11 times in 17 league appearances.
