Super Falcons star Ashleigh Plumptre has hinted that Leicester City’s win over Manchester United will serve as massive confidence boost when they face Women’s Super League leader Arsenal at Meadow Park.
The Foxes have struggled to rediscover their last season form, losing all their eight matches in the topflight which led to the dismissal of Jonathan Morgan late last month.
While the Foxes are gradually gaining their momentum, the Super Falcons star gave a good account of herself against the Red Devils Women with a commendable performance that almost saw her scored a goal.
The Gunners ladies are the only undefeated team in the Super League winning seven games and drawing the other, but with a clash against Leicester City a tough test waits the Foxes this evening.
Plumptre while speaking Leicester City’s official website said: “We all have to be able to make those adaptations, but for Arsenal, we are just trying to take what we did against United into the game.”
“We haven’t tried to focus too much on Arsenal, more on just ourselves. Hopefully with the confidence we have from the game against Manchester United we can take that into Arsenal.”
“We’re there to compete, we know what the standards look like, but you go into every game the same and we’re excited for the opportunity.”
Plumptre will hope to gear up his teammates while face the league leader today, and also hope they take maximum point against the inform Gunners.
