Chelsea's Cesar Azpilicueta hospitalised after horror collision with Sekou Mara

Chelsea skipper César Azpilicueta was forced to be taken to the hospital after a collision with substitute Sekou Mara during the Blues’ defeat against Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking after the game, Chelsea boss Graham Potter confirmed that Azpilicueta was conscious and speaking with his wife while in hospital.

If Chelsea can’t recover him for their London derby against Tottenham next weekend, it will be a huge loss for them.

Southampton’s victory not only handed them their first league double over Chelsea in 35 years, but also kickstarts their climb out of the bottom half of the table.

For Chelsea, however, their 10th place position in the league table remains unchanged.
