Chelsea Eyeing Young Spanish Defender Following Reece James Injury

Chelsea is showing interest in signing young Spanish defender Ivan Fresneda following an injury to Reece James.

Fresneda, who currently plays for Real Valladolid, has been linked with several clubs including Arsenal and Barcelona.

While no official bid has been made, Chelsea officials are closely monitoring Fresneda’s situation and may make a move if they believe he is open to joining the London club.

This development comes after James suffered a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out of action for several weeks.

Arsenal had previously held meetings with Fresneda’s representatives but their interest quieted after pursuing another player.

Fresneda has a release clause in his contract worth around £17.1 million (€20 million), and it remains to be seen if he will leave Real Valladolid this summer.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the situation.
