Brentford midfielder, Frank Onyeka, will be unable to participate in Nigeria’s upcoming friendly against the Eagles of Mali due to injury.

According to sources within the camp, Onyeka sustained the injury during the Super Eagles’ 2-1 victory against the Black Stars of Ghana last Friday.

Following the injury, Onyeka returned to his club on Sunday for further treatment. The 26-year-old defensive midfielder will undergo rehabilitation to ensure a full recovery.

Accompanying Onyeka back to his club is Fulham defender, Calvin Bassey, who is also nursing a minor injury. Bassey, however, did not feature in the match against Ghana and was an unused substitute.

The Super Eagles are set to face Mali at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Tuesday.

Despite Onyeka’s absence, the Super Eagles have a talented squad and are prepared to give their all on the pitch.
