In a tweet on his handle @taiwoawoniyi18, the striker thanked God for a successful season plus messages of appreciation for Forest fans after a fairytale end to the season.
“Having therefore obtained the help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great,” Awoniyi wrote.

“Once a dream, dream it and believe for he makes all things possible. What incredible support Nottingham Forest FC throughout the season. I love you Reds. ”
Awoniyi became Nottingham Forest first signing of the summer when he joined from German Bundesliga club Union Berlin.
The 26-year old scored 10 goals in his debut English Premier League season, a significant part coming towards the end of the campaign to rescue Steve Copper’s men from relegation.
Six goals in the last-4 games meant Awoniyi finished the season as a hero at the City Ground, one whose services the club will look to retain ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
