A Player like Aaron-Wan Bissaka of Congolese descent is still hoping for a place in the England National team for years.

But with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold missing out due to injury, that could be a dream farfetched from the look of things.

Arsenal’s Ben White is also left out in this case just like AC Milan center-back Fikayo Tomori despite their form for their respective clubs.

And in the midfield, the English side has enough options to choose from in the meantime. Mason Mount who was initially listed in the England squad is out due to injury while Crystal Palace’s playmaker Eberechi Eze couldn’t make the cut on his own.

James Maddison is back among the mix though he’s been missing his link-up play with Youri Tielemans in Leicester City midfield following the Belgian’s absence due to injury.

But his presence could be handy to Southgate’s England side who also have the likes of Kalvin Philips, Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson to pick from.

However, Mason Mount’s creativity would be missing in view of the attacking depth in the midfield for England, though Jude Bellingham is available for selection.

While Eze’s absence leaves many wondering whether he’s switched allegiance to his supposed country of birth Nigeria.

He’s a top-class talent alongside Michael Olise as we all know and he ought to be picked despite playing for mid-table club Crystal Palace.

England’s attack is quite good enough to trouble any defence in world football with skipper Harry Kane reminding us of Wayne Rooney in his days at Manchester United.

Jamie Vardy may have left the international scene for younger players. But there’s still no place for the in-form Serie A star Tammy Abraham.

Playing alongside Paulo Dybala and Charismatic manager Jose Mourinho should give him the fame he needs for international recognition.

But it appears that Ivan Toney and Marcus Rashford have won the heart of Southgate ahead of the African (Abraham) who is of Nigerian descent.

While Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho and Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling are out of the team owing to form and injury worries.
