Almeria Boss Rubi Backs Sadiq To Start Scoring Again

UD Almeria coach Rubi has backed Sadiq Umar to soon snap out of a goals drought that has seen him go six games without a goal.

At the weekend, the prolific striker could have scored his eighth goal of the season, but he missed a penalty, which he caused, in a scoreless draw with Huesca.

His last goal was in mid-October against Real Sociedad.

“Everything that happens I take it as my responsibility,” said Rubi.

“It(Penalty miss vs Huesca) tasted bad because it was a great situation for Sadiq to score his eighth goal and put us 1-0 up, but we are together for the good, the regular and the bad.

“I trust him.”

Last season, Sadiq fired 20 goals in the Spanish Segunda Division, but Almeria missed out on promotion in the playoffs.
